Calgary Facilitator Training Program

Congratulations and thank you for your interest in becoming a facilitator of the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium!

The entire process of becoming a facilitator is a rich, focused, challenging and, hopefully, a deeply rewarding journey and learning experience. We heartily invite you to jump in and join us. Below are some of the specific aspects of the training program for you to consider. 

Purpose and Content
The Awakening the Dreamer Facilitator Training is designed for those who are eager to learn the basic elements of putting on a symposium so that they can immediately go out and bring symposiums into existence in their communities.

The training features the latest "V-2" version of the new global edition of the symposium, which has incorporated feedback from facilitators around the world to powerfully enhance the symposium's ability to catalyze change.

It is an interactive and engaging program that uses the best of adult learning techniques, making it both enlightening and fun. The advance prework prepares you to get the most out of the experience.

The training is followed by a learning period, under the guidance of either a trained facilitator or with a local team, who will assist you with additional practical information and skills.

- You'll see a sign directing you to the Social Room, #2105, downstairs. Follow the signs.

 
This is a non-residential training. Hotels and motels are available nearby. Billeting may also be possible. Please contact the Registrar for more information.

Tuition 
Tuition includes the 2-day workshop, training notebook, color symposium presentation manual & DVDs, plus continental breakfasts, light beverages and snacks throughout the weekend. Lunches are by shared potluck.

For individuals needing financial assistance, scholarships may be available upon request on a sliding-scale basis. Applications are available through the Registrar.

Preparation Period
The preparation period begins as soon as you register for the training, and immerses you in some of the information and concepts that form the heart of the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. During this time, you will read some of the materials that inspired the Symposium, do some research and investigation, and re-examine your own daily practices—among other activities. 

Your registration and preparation period can begin whenever you are ready, as long as there is enough time remaining to complete the assignments before the training. Given that people prepare and read at different speeds, the trainees so far have devoted very different amounts of time to preparing themselves.

The materials include a background information sheet, the training preparation materials, the reading materials and access to an electronic version of the Symposium manual. A color hard copy will be provided to you at the training.
